April 29, 2003, 2248 hours
At 2018 hours a 2 1/2 yom was discovered missing
from his home. The residence was on a country road
with neighbors on both sides, the terrain was hilly
with a steep drop off over 60 foot at the rear of
the property, with a creek at the bottom. The creek
had very little flow in dry weather and very rocky.
After a door to door search of the neighborhood, a
K-9 search and a helicopter with heat sensitive
search equipment failed, the Sheriff's Office called
the local fire dept. and the S&R for man power to do
a line search on foot from the road across the
yards, down the hill to the creek and beyond if
necessary. The creek ran paralel with the road.
The moving was slow due to the terrain and brush.
One of our members found the little boy asleep on a
large rock in the creek, he was a little scratched
up, however, OK.
